Apartment Kitchen 1973
Meeting Dallas
Again, our first meet and greet. That's my father who just made me very happy- and a Master as well
Yard & Spiked Fence 1979
Dallas at play
This picture shows more of the length of the fence. That's my father and my sister (Baby) tossing Dallas snowballs. He would have had to jump that fence into the adjoing yard then jump it again on the other side to engage General in his beatdown of Scooter.

Civil War Monument 1979
Downtown Sherburne, NY
That's me standing on the village center civil war monument best referenced in the book as the "Safe" location in tag games. That also would have been ground zero during the Halloween wars. The picture taker would have been standing in front of Quinns Market.
Stoopified 1980
Dallas Leashed
Poor Dallas, he looks miserable chained to the back stoop. The chain extends over to the basketball post. Many times in the novel he took a flaying leap off those steps in pursuit of small game or simply free roamin' exhuberance. That's me and my sister (Nat) beside him. I'm wearing classic Nike sneakers and knee high socks- a dead give away to the date.

The Yard 1982
Back Yard
Taken from the an upstairs window you see the basketball post which grounded dallas' leash and the modest yard he normally dug up rocks to bark at. The iron spiked fence would be off to the right.

This picture shows more of the length of the fence. That's my father and my sister (Baby) tossing Dallas snowballs. He would have had to jump that fence into the adjoing yard then jump it again on the other side to engage General in his beatdown of Scooter.

The Park 1979
Thomas Gaines Park
This would be part of the view from the Bay Window looking into Gaines Park. It was early spring so there was no foliage on the trees or butternuts on the ground. Many of the dog fights took place in this park.
